We had such high hopes of cute pictures with the babies wearing their cute little hats. Maybe looking up lovingly at us... Maybe even looking quizzically at each other...
In the end we settled for whatever we could get... :)

You can't have a birthday without a cake!
Well, i thought i would start with giving out props to mama for the cake and theme for the party. As with most parents of little ones these days, Baby Einstein factors heavily into things. Great videos (which keep the kids occupied) Great toys (which help them develop) and a whole line of stuff!
We decided to go with the Baby Einstein theme for the party and as such, we went with a cake fashioned after their Logo. Mama worked with a great bakery that was right around the corner from the party (Aunt Becky's House... THANK YOU AUNT BECKY!)
In retrospect, the green icing may have been a bad idea. (although the dry cleaners did manage to get the stains out.)
Whoulda thunk that the babies would just slam their hands into the icing and such? (pics to come)

Their First Disney Parade.
To be honest, at the end of their first day at the Happiest Place on Earth, our only hopes were that they might be awake and not grouchy. We had success on both counts. While they were not exactly jumping up and down and waving at the floats, they sure seemed interested in it all.
Although Aunt Rachel REALLY looked into it!
It will be even more fun when they have an idea what is going on!

Comments
Hi there all, i am posting again with a plea from us.
Over time this blog has changed, initially it was just to show far away family some pictures of the babies in an easy to view , easy to update manner. however over time, this little thing has changed from a photo album for friends and family to a living scrapbook of the kids lives.
One of the greatest joys of it is when we get comments. They give us (and the kids down the road) some feedback from family and friends that makes the images even more fun and come alive. they will give the kids an insight as to how others viewed them.
So please, help us build this scrapbook for them. If you think a picture is cute, goofy, silly, embarrassing in the future... whatever, just please drop us a comment for all of us. it really makes it more fun.
Thanks.
Chris and Roxanne

Cool hats eh?
Once we arrived inside the park, we went to get their golden ears personalized. The ears were a present from Aunt Rachel for the babies shower last year.
When getting their names stitched into the hats, we observed a sad thing. it seems that a piece of Disney history has faded into the past. a year ago when Roxanne and i got our Golden ears and we had them personalized, they still had the old sewing machines and the employees that manually manipulated the sewing machines to stitch in the names. It was quite a thing to watch. Now a single employee sets the hat into one of a few computerized sewing machines and types the name into a computer and it does its thing. where once there were a few employees doing a skilled job, there is now one doing an unskilled job... Et Tu Mickey?

We are going to Disneyland!
For the twins birthday we could think of nothing better than taking them to Disneyland. After a big long car ride getting to Southern California and a day of waiting, we were finally there.
I am not sure if it is the excitement of going to Disneyland or the thrill of riding on the tram with the wind blowing through his hair, but Christopher seems to be loving things!
Anastasia however seems to be (as usual) very cool about the whole thing.
I once read that the true joy of Disney was not seeing it for yourself, but seeing it through your children's eyes. As we drove up to the front of the park, i have to admit i was looking forward to seeing the excitement in their eyes more than i was looking forward to any of the attractions inside the park.

Presents??? What the heck do we do with them?

such delicate sleepers...
Anastasia cracks me up when she sleeps. Here is one of her favourite positions. She has been sitting up and squacking away when finally sheer exhaustion takes over and WHAMMO! she falls forward. Asleep! And when she wakes, she will just sit up and look around.
Him... he is sleeping with his puppy on his head. need i say any more!

Nap Time!
Well, we were down in SoCal for their birthday and for one nap she would not go to sleep so i had to resort to picking her up and trying to lay her down with me... It worked like a charm. She snuggled up against her daddy and went right to sleep. I had to suffer though, i had to lay there and pretend i was napping as well. After all, i did not want to get up and accidentally wake her up. So i bit the bullet and pretended to sleep.
(Ok, i might have enjoyed my baby girl snuggling up to me just a little bit)
Christopher on the other hand... Slept the sleep of the dead. And the limbs hanging out of the crib... what does that remind me of?

Are we bad parents?
OK, as he is still mainly scooching backwards and not crawling forwards, he gets into some odd positions. our first warning of these odd positions is usually a plaintive wailing from the living room not unlike a wounded cat. Does it make us bad parents if we take his picure first before rescuing him?
Look at all this great stuff!!!
The three loves of my life!
