What is that look?

Is it just me or does that look like the face of a man practicing for a long career of watching TV? Posted by Picasa

The look!

When you see that look in his eyes... you may be in for a long night! Posted by Picasa

Now those are two tired babies!

When the eyes roll back in the head... they are done! Posted by Picasa

Sleep!!!!

Well, i must apologise for a previous post. In it i stated that we got 7 hours of sleep. In consultation with my wife i must edit this to... we went 7 hours between feedings. I might have gotten 6 hours... poor Roxanne got less than that.

We have been going nuts for the last few days with the babies being incredibly fussy. So last night we bought a book and video called THE HAPPIEST BABY ON THE BLOCK. Lets hope it works. Initial use seems to quiet them down pretty fast, but we have yet to see experience of sleeping all night.

Pretty simple stuff, it is just all combined in one place. Wish us luck!

First visit with Santa

Well, we went to see Santa on Saturday. Our first social outing with the twins. They were pretty cooperative. It was at the home of one of the members of our twins club.

Much easier i must say than trying to wait in line at the mall.

Oh My God are we ever tired!

This baby thing is exhausting.

Over the last few days, sleep has been at a premium. The babies are not sleeping well. Maybe they have a cold, I do not know what, but the nights have been long.

My lovely wife has been an absolute angel in that she is taking care of the nighttime feedings without my help. (Not that I would be much help, I am sleeping so deep that she has to poke me with a sharp stick to cause me to stir! I am not kidding or exaggerating.)

Although, this presents a problem, she lets me sleep through the night, then I go to work and the babies are fussy all day and she gets no nap during the day. So my wife is getting substantially less sleep than me. This road leads nowhere we want to be, but unfortunately there seem to be no exits we can see.

One way or the other, we have to find a solution or something is going to happen to one of us. This is my challenge right now.

Find a way for Roxanne to get some sleep!

The main issue with twins

When people talk about how they know what you are going through, they don't.

Here is the main issue.

When parents of singles have finished a feeding, they have one of these.

BUT!!!! When you have twins, you also have one of these!

Each of them is great on their own...
But together they can be more than one + one.

Confound it though we love them so!

WOW!

It has been a red letter day thus far. Last night we fed the twins at midnight. Then they woke us up at 5:30 AM to eat again... 4 FREAKIN HOURS OF SLEEP!!! (after we finished feeding)

I pray to everything that is holy that this was not a random fluke occurence!

Happy Thanksgiving from the Gillespie Family

Trying to get two babies to sit up and have everybody facing the camera is a unique new challenge in life. Posted by Picasa
I am not sure if I was surprised, or it was the sleep deprivation... But either way, i look done like dinner! Posted by Picasa
