Happy Six Month Birthday!!!
Well, we went to Sears Portrait Studio today for their Six Month birthday. Of course we spent more than we wanted... but look at the shots! This took all the combined skills of the photographer, and mommy and daddy doing everything they could to get the twins to look in the right direction and smile! Some of the outakes are pretty funny.
In this picture, daddy has his arm under the green cloth you see behind them and is holding onto Christophers clothes to try to get him from arching his back and sliding right off the platform.

Happy Easter from the Gillespie Clan
Happy Easter from all of us.
Funny story here about this picture. In order to take it, i had the camera balanced on the stroller so that i could set the timer and get a picture of us. Well, the down side is that it is (at the time of picture taking) starting to rain. So I am dashing back and forth with Christopher in my arm like a sack of flour. then as I am counting down, we are doing everything we can do to get the kids to look at the damm camera! We took about 200 pictures and in one of them, Anastasia happened to be looking at the camera. Christopher... he is being camera challenged.
But at the end of all that, a nice picture.

Their first easter baskets!
In what shall be a long line of easter and chocolate... they got their first easter baskets from the easter bunny this year. (Aunt Rachel and Cousin Michelle nicely provided the baskets)
"This is cool... what is it?"
"It looks good... Can we eat it?"
"Enough Pictures already... Lets bite the ears off!"
Of course, Mommy and Daddy are helping with the consuming of the candy for this year... Babies can't eat chocolate right?

These kids love their Rice cereal.
Time to let Baby stuff REALLY fill up the house.
Well, we were excited because the infant car seats were leaving the house. Excited because we were going to get some floor space back. We forgot that by adding this exersaucer we ended up with a loss in floor space. Although i do have to say that the babies love it. we may even need to get a second one at some point.
The new stroller
So... here's the problem. We could not buy the stroller we wanted. The one we wanted is smaller, lighter and folds up to a far more reasonable size (i think this one gets bigger when it folds) And most importantly... the one we wanted steers quite nicely. However, put Christopher in the rear seat (the one that reclines more fully) and his legs are ALREADY touching the back of the seat in front of him. These strollers are supposed to be for kids up to a few years old. It is great having nice big healthy babies, but the folks who design childrens equipment need to look at some real babies. On the plus side, this one has loads of storage room and room for the babies to grow.
I just need to attach a trailer hitch to the car and then i can drag it along.

What a difference 24 weeks makes
Well, the "infant" car seats that should have lasted about 8 months or so lasted 5 1/2 months. THe babies have outgrown them. Just to put it in perspective, here is a shot of them coming home from the hospital on October 30th. And a shot we took last night when they finished their final trip in the car seats.
It kind of blows the mind!

What is better?
Well it happened for the first time. He succesfully held the bottle for about 5 seconds. THen dropped it and i had to take over. The problem is that now it is a constant battle to keep their little hands from knocking the bottle out of their mouths. So what is better? Not holding the bottle? Or fighting to keep their little paws away.
In the end, all i can hope is that i will eventually not have to hold the bottle for every feeding. It is getting tiring.
